Arizona is the Meth Lab of Democracy

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer recently signed into law a bill that criminalizes being in the state of Arizona without citizenship or immigration papers and requires that police investigate anyone they suspect of being an undocumented immigrant.

This move, coupled with the state’s complicity with the anti-Obama “birthers” and its continual efforts to allow more and more people to carry concealed weapons without permits has prompted the Daily Show’s John Stewart to bestow upon Arizona the distinguished title of “the Meth Lab of Democracy.”

I love this segment because, not only is John Stewart hilarious, but he exposes the non-sensical nature of the claim that SB 1070 won’t lead to racial profiling. This bill is nothing more than a thinly-veiled attempt to further cement white-supremacist ideology into our nations laws, one state at a time. The severity of the situation demands that we continue to take action to block this law before it is used against any of our brothers and sisters in Arizona.
